Focus on Maintaining, not Increasing

● Natural Oxygen Cycle

The good news is, that we don't necessarily need to directly increase atmospheric Oxygen levels for sustainability. Earth's atmosphere has a natural cycle where photosynthesis by plants replenishes Oxygen.

● The Threat

The problem lies in disrupting this cycle. Activities like deforestation and the use of excessive fossil fuels release Carbon dioxide, which is more than the quantum that can be absorbed by plantations. This disrupts the natural balance and can lead to a decrease in Oxygen over time.

Sustainable Practices for Oxygen Balance

● Forestry Management

Sustainable forestry practices that promote healthy, growing forests and mangroves ensure continued Oxygen production through photosynthesis.

● Renewable Energy

Shifting towards renewable energy sources like solar and wind power as well as tidal or geothermal energy sources reduces reliance on fossil fuels and lowers Carbon dioxide emissions, indirectly helping maintain Oxygen levels.

● Urban Greening

Planting trees in urban areas not only improves aesthetics but also helps remove Carbon dioxide and contributes to Oxygen production. Plantation also helps improve rainfall.

Vaayu Hybrid AHUs don't directly increase the Oxygen content of the air. Here's why

● Air coolers work through cooling by evaporation

They use water evaporation to cool the air. This process cools the air but doesn't change its Oxygen content.

● They don't add Oxygen

Unlike some air purifiers, Vaayu hybrid chillers don't seem to have any built-in features to actively add Oxygen to the air.

Although Vaayu AHUs can’t directly increase the Oxygen content of air, however, Vaayu AHUs provide a constant supply of fresh and filtered air that has more. This is because:

● Improved air circulation

Vaayu AHUs circulate air, which can help remove stale air and bring in fresher air from outside (potentially with more Oxygen as against stale air)

● Balanced humidity

The air output from Vaayu AHUs is far less humid than a conventional evaporative air cooler, also the air output from Vaayu AHUs is never as dry as in the case of conventional air conditioners. Such balanced humidity ensures good health of skin/hair and at the same time comfortable to breathe.

Limitations of Oxygenated Air Solutions

● Technology Immaturity

While some technologies claim to add Oxygen to the air directly, they are often expensive and have limited effectiveness on a large scale. More often, many Oxygenators add O3 which has the potential to cause headaches and discomfort.

● Focus on Root Cause

Instead of relying heavily on unproven Oxygenation technologies, it's more sustainable to focus on practices that prevent Oxygen depletion in the first place.
